27 June, 5:00 PM — We host a meeting with the Dolgan writer and activist Kseniia Bolshakova, who will present her book The Frost Also Melts ("Un giorno toccherà al permafrost"), still unpublished in Italy and translated from Russian into Italian by Francesca B. Stefanelli.
The author was born and raised in the tundra of Taymyr, in the Siberian Arctic, in a family of reindeer herders. In her book, she tells of the slow transformation of what for generations seemed unchanging: the permafrost, the tundra, traditional herding, and the mother tongue.
We will talk about the Arctic, climate change, and Indigenous cultures, leaving space for the audience's questions and curiosities.
