Monica Perosino has been a journalist for the Italian daily La Stampa since 2001. Since 2013, she has covered Central and Eastern Europe, the Baltic and Scandinavian countries as a correspondent and, most recently, the war in Ukraine, which inspired her book La Neve di Mariupol.

Based in Turin, but travelling mainly through Central Europe, Visegrad and the Nordic countries, she mainly covers politics, economics and social issues, with a focus on civil rights, the European Union and perspectives.
