Danielle Petti. Workshop at Stone Oven House:

Daniele Petti. Natural pigments. Workshop

In this workshop participants will learn how to create their own painting with what is found in nature. Danielle Petti will guide you through her process of creating sustainable art, offering tips on finding materials, crushing rocks and mixing the perfect colour. Pigment processing will take place with Danielle's tools, who will also tell a brief history of earth pigments and offer an overview of sustainable art practices.

This workshop is ideal for artists who want to have a greater connection with the materials they work with, but also for non-artists who are curious about this prehistoric way of making paint.

It is not compulsory to bring anything with you to the workshop, but it is advisable to bring soft rocks or soil that you can find nearby. Not all rocks work well as pigment; your collected samples can be tested during the workshop.

Danielle Petti is a Canadian artist with a degree in Fine Arts from the University of Toronto. She is specialized in painting with natural pigments, holding several courses in Canada and participating in art residencies in America and Europe.
