From December 4 to 8, Andrey Bilzho will be a guest at Casa col Forno, leading a creative workshop dedicated to transforming found objects into works of art.

Andrey Bilzho is a Russian artist, illustrator, and psychiatrist known for his sharp humor and for creating Petrovich, a satirical icon of Russian television and print media in the 1990s. His cartoons, published for over two decades in newspapers such as Kommersant and Novaya Gazeta, played a key role in shaping post-Soviet irony, blending social commentary with existential humor. Beyond illustration, Bilzho has been involved in theater, literature, and even gastronomy, demonstrating his creative versatility across different fields.

The From Junk to Art workshop is all about transformation: participants will visit flea markets in the area, collecting unexpected materials and giving them new life through artistic interpretation. This workshop is not just about assembling objects but about seeing potential where others see waste, repurposing forgotten things, and experimenting with unconventional materials.

Under Bilzho’s guidance, participants will explore the balance between randomness and intention, humor and nostalgia, the original function of an object and its artistic reinvention. More than a manual craft experience, the workshop is an exercise in creative thinking, a playful engagement with meaning and reinterpretation.
