On August 26, 2023, Stone Oven House in Rorà hosted an Open Studio event featuring two resident artists, Elena Horgan and Shamil Shaaev. The event offered attendees the chance to explore the creative processes and works of these artists, each bringing a unique perspective to their craft.

Elena Horgan, a filmmaker and visual artist from Cork, Ireland, has garnered international attention for her projects that focus on themes of human connection and identity. A graduate of Film and TV Production from IADT, her film Skin Hunger (2018) was showcased at multiple international film festivals, including the Austin Arthouse Festival and the London Experimental Film Festival.

Shamil Shaaev is a visual artist currently based in France, known for his work in sculpture and photography. His art often explores memory and personal narratives. Shamil joined Casa col Forno as part of the Artists at Risk program, which supports artists whose lives and freedom are under threat. Through his residency, he continues to develop his practice in exploring themes of identity and history.
