The Garden. Anna Tretyakova

On September 9, 2023, Rorà hosted a meeting with artist and independent curator Anna Tretyakova, organized under the patronage of the Municipality of Rorà. The event took place at 5:00 PM in Sala Odetto, a space located in front of the town’s gardens.

During the event, Anna Tretyakova screened her film The Garden (23 minutes), which tells the story of her personal relationship with the Botanical Garden of Yerevan, Armenia. The film addressed themes such as war and ecological crisis, presenting the garden as a political, social, and cultural marker. Drawing on Kropotkin’s philosophical ideas, Tretyakova explored the notion of friendship through care and mutual aid between humans and nature.

Following the screening, the artist engaged with the audience, answering questions about the relationship between humans and plants, plant rights, and their broader societal impact. Attendees were also invited to share their own reflections on local nature, trees, and gardens.
