Mapping Rorà — A Presentation with Marina Demchenko

On November 9, at Sala Odetto in Piazza Fontana, Rorà, the community gathered for a presentation of the illustrated map of the village, a project developed by Marina Demchenko.

Marina Demchenko is an illustrator and cartographer who transforms real spaces into artistic maps that do more than just guide—they tell stories. Trained as a visual artist and specialized in illustrated cartography, she has worked on projects that merge geography, memory, and visual narration. Her maps are not just practical tools but artistic compositions that interweave architecture, nature, and cultural identity.

For Rorà, Marina started developing a map featuring the village’s key landmarks: historical sites, walking trails, hidden panoramas, and everyday details that define the character of the place. During the presentation, the community had the opportunity to contribute, suggesting additional elements and sharing personal stories to be reflected in the final map.

The event was an interactive moment where art and local identity merged, creating a collective vision of Rorà as more than just a geographic space, but a place filled with history and shared experiences.
