A Road for Georgia. Presentation of Elisa Baglioni’s book

At Casa col Forno, the book Una strada per la Georgia by Elisa Baglioni was presented in an evening that intertwined literature, politics, and music.

The author shared her journey through Georgia, Armenia, and the Northern Caucasus, where she met journalists, intellectuals, and young activists. Through their voices emerged the complex condition of dissidents and the deeper reasons behind the region’s political tensions.

In conversation with Monica Perosino, journalist for La Stampa, the discussion offered a clear and thoughtful look at current geopolitical issues, focusing on the war in Ukraine and the growing presence of Russian exiles across Europe.

The evening also featured musical performances by Blu Polokkio, a female collective consisting of Joy Kawalko (accordion, voice), Giulia Marra (violin, voice), and Irene Gandino (percussion, voice), whose music evoked an imaginary geography between East and West.

The day began with an aperitif with Romanian artist Olivia Mihălțianu, currently in residence at Casa col Forno for the project The New Orchestra, developed in collaboration with the Museo Nazionale della Montagna in Turin.

An event that brought together reflection, art, and community in the summer setting of Val Pellice.
