Logging Techniques with Mules — Festival Alpes Andes 2025

The Alpes Andes Festival continues in Rorà with a project dedicated to forest care and the preservation of traditional knowledge.
On 17 and 18 October 2025, together with the Nuto Revelli Foundation, a demonstration of traditional logging techniques with mules takes place in mountain areas that are difficult to reach with tractors or machinery.

With the help of mules and their handlers, ancient methods of working in the forest are rediscovered — a sustainable practice that combines environmental stewardship, social collaboration, and the responsible use of local resources.
The initiative also highlights how pack animals can be valuable allies in managing forest work, particularly in areas that are hard to access or affected by fires and landslides.

Those who wish can observe the loading and transport of wood in designated areas, maintaining safety distances during the route.
The event promotes a model of community forest management, where human and animal forces cooperate in balance with nature.

Stone Oven House is a partner of the Alpes Andes Festival, supporting logistics and hosting participants in the municipality of Rorà.

With the support of the Nuto Revelli Foundation and the Compagnia di San Paolo.
